Wow! Silas turned 1 year old last week and we celebrated in big style. First off, all his grandparents flew in for the weekend! We had a GOOD time together. We visited a goat farm and the farmer's market. And we got ready for his party! A pound cake made into the shape of a car; homemade ice cream & fresh CA strawberries. Friends and a pinata in the shape of "1" taller than him. Gifts and finally, a visit to a pumpkin patch. whew. It was a full and fun weekend. We showered him with attention and love and hugs. He enjoyed it all. He's so much fun. He enjoys giving "zerberts" (is that what you call them?) on bellies, arms & necks. And he's obsessed with cars. He could just hang out in a car for quite a while. He also is extremely talkative and seems quite motivated to communicate. I wish I could understand more but there are quite a few things I do get. My girls love playing in my car or Chad's truck too. It's their favorite thing to do outside. Maybe it makes them feel like a "big person"!
